The only comprehensive volume of Homer's magazine illustrations, with extensive scholarly treatment. Winslow Homer (1836-1910), arguably the best-known American artist of the nineteenth century, created three distinctly different bodies of work in the course of his long career: paintings, book illustrations, art body e magazine zines and illustrations for the pictorial press, the magazine-like illustrated journals of his day.
